3 Quick Tips For Writing a Standout Blog Post

Last time, we chatted about the importance of writing a blog for your business and some key tips for preparing. Eager to get started? Here are 3 key beginner's tips for writing a post.

Tips for writing your blog:

Link to other pages. When you mention other people or companies in your blog > others may trust & mention you in their blog > your SEO inches higher > your reputation/page rank rises > more people mention you as a source or as inspiration. Linking to other pages can help your SEO as much as it helps theirs, and it might even create a cycle of reciprocity. Even if other writers don't mention you or physically "like" your post, the inter-webs will award you a gold star (so to speak). External linkage to top web pages is always an SEO benefit.

Highlight important points to capture the reader’s attention. Bold font immediately catches the eye, and a key point in bold type makes the reader want to read more. Be sure that links appear in a different color or thickness than the rest of your text, too.

Bullet-point lists make key content easier to digest quickly. Announcing in your title that you'll be providing a certain number of ideas or points prepares the reader for what they will find. Plus, these sorts of titles do very well in email campaigns.

These three ideas are the tip of the blog-writing iceberg. There are lots of tips, tricks and intricacies we've learned for writing blog posts AND promoting them. Want to create a blog that incorporates them all? Contact us at eyecatcherinquiries@gmail.com
